With over 12 years experience working within regulatory, verification and consultancy roles, ICON Carbon can manage all your UK ETS requirements and give you peace of mind.
ICON Carbon can work alongside organisations to develop Energy Management Systems that are compliant with international standards and that will improve energy efficiencies on site.
The UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) replaced the UK’s participation in the EU ETS on the 1st January 2021.
The system is designed to limit carbon emissions from energy intensive industries. As limits decrease over time, it will make significant contributions on how Net Zero 2050 targets and other carbon reduction commitments will be met.
The scheme applies to certain regulated activities which result in greenhouse gas emissions, including sites that combust fuels and have a thermal input greater than 20MW.
Organisations that fail to comply with the UK GHG Regulations may be subject to civil penalties and enforcement from Competent Authorities. ICON Carbon are always available to ensure that these issues are avoided. If you would like to discuss any issues regarding UK ETS please do not hesitate to get in touch.

SECR Reporting
The Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting Policy was implemented on the 1st April 2019. This reporting is designed to increase awareness of energy costs within organisations and enable energy efficiency measures to be implemented to work towards a more sustainable future.
The reporting requirements differ for quoted companies, large unquoted companies and LLPs (“Large” Limited Liability Partnerships). ICON carbon can help organisations determine whether they are required to report under SECR and ensure that the correct information is disclosed.
